I am in Arizona, was curious is anyone had grown these from seeds? What time of year is a good time to plant? I understand they are an annual, if kept inside during freezing and shaded in the summer are they perennials? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Hibiscus Sabdariffa, but most other Hibiscus are done by cutting. Seeds are hard coated and will need to be nicked then soaked, even a mild acid solution will help eat the hard husk to allow moister to enter the seed embryo. This is the time of season to sow Hibiscus.
