I live in the DFW, Tx area and planted an Angel Red last spring. It did great during the summer and even put on a few blooms. But this spring it appears all but dead. We've had a really wet winter and spring. Is it possible that it drowned (water did set on the surface for a few days--the ground was saturated)? Or perhaps is it not hardy enought for this area?

Thanks for any help. I was very much looking forward to the fruit this summer.

Terry

Are you sure it's dead?
Are "all" the branches dried and very brittle?
How about the main trunk? is it black and very brittle?

Pom's are very hardy plant's and they send up some new growth from the soil line. They will rot if left in real wet/soggy soils for a long time. We've had a wet winter here also, well wet for Arizona anyways, and I have several in #15 containers that have not leafed out yet, but the limbs are still soft and flexible so there still alive. Odd thing is most of the other Poms are in full growth except just these few,, I'll wait for another few weeks..
If you can bend any limbs without breaking them,, give them more time.
