Anna is a Red Blushed over Green-style apple, developed in Israel in 1959. Anna has an exceptionally low chill requirement, and will thrive even in climates where temperatures dip towards freezing for only 150 to 200 hours or so each season. This makes it ideally suited to climates to the American Southwest that are in USDA zones 8-10. Anna is a very early-season apple, ripening in Mid June / early July. It bears fruit early in the life of the tree and is one of the "Proven Producers" in the lower elevations of Arizona.
