Dorsett Golden preforms exceptionally well along with other low chilling types of Apples. With less than 300 chill hours. Dorsett Golden flowers in Arizona around March and harvest's around Early June. The flesh is lightly crisp and with a good flavor, When Harvested at the correct time but does not store for long periods of time. Flavor is apparently better in apples which are slightly shaded (the reverse of what is normally recommended for cool climate apples). Dorsett Golden trees are extremely precocious and will start fruiting in their second year and is a heavy producer.
