Originally from Japan, Fukumoto is prized for ripening three to four weeks ahead of Washington Navel - the earliest navel orange most growers will plant. Known for its deep reddish-orange rind, seedless sweet low-acid flesh, and a smaller, more compact tree that adapts especially well to container growing.
